Non-AAS Leagues, Clubs and Associations

A number of activities, leagues, and clubs hold practice and meetings at AAS. Because these activities are not coordinated by AAS, please contact each organization directly if you would like your child to participate.

Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts

Troop 500 is an active Boy Scout of America Direct Service troop that meets weekly on Saturdays at 16:00 or 16:30 at AAS. Our program is for boys ages 11-17 and in grades 6-12. We have Scouts working on all levels of rank advancements and a variety of merit badges. Throughout the school year, Troop 500 has several camp-outs, a lock-in, and award ceremonies.

Girl Scouts

At AAS, we have a strong troop of almost 50 girls, from Kindergarten through Grade 11. We are a USA Girl Scouts Overseas troop - we are supported by headquarters in New York and do not sell cookies! The girls earn badges and Journey patches, go on various outings, celebrate World Thinking Day, and camp out in the spring.

Moscow Youth Soccer League (autumn)

Practice held at Leningradsky 31, building 41, Moscow.
The season runs from August 30 to October 18.
Open to students ages 3 to 14 years old with any level of soccer experience.

Moscow Youth American Flag Football (autumn)

Non-contact American Flag Football is open to AAS students only, girls and boys, ages 7-14.
The season is August  - October. Games held on Saturdays at AAS.

Martial Arts (year-round)

Martial Arts Classes at the AAS South gym start September 1.

The Martial Arts classes have been running at AAS for 13 years. The program is based on Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do and traditional Japanese Jiu Jitsu, and includes studying punching and kicking techniques, Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do forms, working with targets, sparring; and studying self-defense techniques, including working with knives and bo staffs (sticks). The classes also include physical exercises such as running, strength workouts, elements of gymnastics, games, stretching etc. Belt tests and tournaments take place several times a year.

The classes are available September through May, and take place at AAS South gym every Monday and Thursday:

18:30 - 5 and under years old (35 min);
19:05 - 6-9 years old (40 min);
19:45 - 10 years old and above, including adults (45 min).

The fee for the classes can be paid by semester or class by class. Classes start September 1, 2017.

The Skill Evaluation day will be on Sunday November 15 for grades 2-12 only.  The First Game day will be Saturday, November 28 for all grades.
